We are pretending it's going to help. Does anyone believe it? Yes, but only because they want to believe it, or think that by believing something will make it true. Which can kinda work with the stock market, and other thing based on smoke and mirrors and people's perception: "The economy is failing! Your bank is going under!" and..it does.
No doubt it will not work. Printing money does not create resources. It can't.
